English: Initial imaging of the star HD 84406 by James Webb Space Telescope, at completion of first phase of initial alignment, released by NASA on 2022-02-18.
At this point, the 18 primary mirror segments are only roughly aligned, so far, and not yet focused. So the image shows 18 blurred copies of the same star, in a hexagonal pattern. During the following 3 months, the mirrors will be aligned fully, to focus and synchronize their separate images into one complete image.
Deutsch: Ursprüngliches Bild des Sterns HD 84406 durch das James-Webb-Weltraumteleskop. Erste Phase des Beginns der Ausrichtung abgeschlossen, veröffentlicht von NASA am 18. Februar 2022.
Die 18 Segmente des Hauptspiegels sind erst grob ausgerichtet und noch nicht fokussiert. Daher zeigt das Bild noch 18 unscharfe Bilder desselben Sterns in einrm hexagonalen Muster. In den folgenden 3 Monaten sollen die Spiegelsegmente vollständig ausgerichtet werden. Durch Fokussieren und Synchronisieren soll ein einziges, scharfes Bild entstehen. |
